Find the screws that came with the smoke alarm and the toggle bolts that go on the screws.

Wall mounted alarms should be installed not more than 12 inches away from the ceiling to the top of the alarm. If it needs to be mounted elsewhere on the ceiling it must be at least 4 inches from a wall.
